Brad Miller is a media artist and COFA lecturer in Design Studies. His most recent installation Data_Shadow, was developed during Underbelly Arts. Underbelly is a Sydney artist residency and festival held on Cockatoo Island in 2011.

Data_Shadow is a large scale projection work that accesses the Flickr database allowing viewers to interact with the returned series of images. Miller's art practice explores the relationship between memory and technology. Our lives are now documented online by ever-growing repositories of data. How does this shape how we remember? And how does it change the way the world remembers us?

This talk was recorded live at Cockatoo Island on 12th July, 2011 as part of Underbelly Arts 2011.
